A little research this morning yielded me the answer to the “mystery moth’s” name. It’s Richard!
OK. I’ll be serious. It is a “citheronia regalis,” or, known by its common name, a “Royal Walnut Moth.” Here is a much better photo of this beautiful moth:

“Royal Walnut Moth,” – “citheronia regalis” This must be Richard’s brother, Henry.

This beautiful photo is from Wikipedia.. It’s better than mine, but then again, Henry wasn’t under a bright spotlight, in the late night, and then not positioned over a large bush the photographer would have had to stand in to get the photograph. At least those are my excuses, and they are enough. . .
That is a beautiful moth, Paula…
I think I prefer ‘Richard’. It’s easier to say
That’s why his brother is named “Henry” – check out the caption!
Gorgeous little fella.
He’s actually not such a littkle fella! Wingspread on the one we got was close to 4.5″! But he is handsome!
Yeah! What you said.
